HOW IT WORKS

A worked example of one purchase from start to finish. Maya is a made-up example, not a customer. The prices, holds and rules below are the real ones.

One block, step by step

1. Day 0
   Maya pays $5 for a block

   Maya sells a small design tool. She pastes her site address on the homepage, picks the cheapest open block, adds a logo and a one-line description, and pays on Dodo's secure checkout. No account is needed first.

2. A few minutes later
   A person reviews it

   Every claim gets a quick human review before it goes live. If it were rejected, she would be refunded in full.

3. Day 0 to day 1
   Her block is protected for 24 hours

   Nobody can take it during the first 24 hours. Her logo shows to every visitor, and her public campaign page starts counting views and clicks.

4. Day 1 onward
   Someone can take it by paying 1.5× ($7.50)

   After the hold, anyone can take the block by paying 1.5× what she paid. She keeps the exposure she already had, gets an email, and can take it back the same way. She could also have paid more up front to lock it for a full week.

5. Any time
   She checks the numbers

   A view is counted when her block is at least 50% visible for one continuous second, once per visitor. Clicks go through a server-side redirect and are counted once per visitor too. Anyone can open her campaign page and see the same numbers she sees.
